Alameda County Family Law Lawyer Appointed to Bench

On December 6, 2006 California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger announced the appointment of Stephen M. Pulido to a judgeship in the Alameda County Superior Court.

Pulido, 53, of who lives Pleasanton, has been in private practice in Hayward, specializing in family law since 1998. Previously, he practiced with Browner, Pulido & Sheehan, a small family law firm from 1978 to 1998. Pulido earned a Juris Doctorate degree from University of California, Hastings College of the Law and a Bachelor of Arts degree from University of California, Berkeley. He fills the vacancy created by the elevation of Judge James Richman to the Court of Appeal. Pulido is a Democrat.

The compensation for this position is $158,201.

Domestic Violence Statute of Limitatations Clarified

The California Court of Appeal has opined that when a domestic violence claims arising from a series of incidents, that statute of limitations begins to run with the last act of violence.  Click here to read the court's opinion.

A bickering New York couple have had a dividing wall constructed inside their home as part of an acrimonious divorce.

Chana and Simon Taub, both 57, have endured two years of divorce negotiations, but neither is prepared to give up their Brooklyn home.
